How does duct cleaning work?

The cleaning process consists of:

PREPARATION

Our trained technicians will remove all your registers (ceiling or floor grilles) and seal each opening to ensure a tight seal to increase maximum suction capacity of the vacuum. This step also helps to prevent the spread of contaminates or debris throughout your home.

CONTAMINENT CONTAINMENT

This is the important step as it prevents any contaminates or debris from spreading to the rest of your home. During this process, we attach a large, filtered, commercial vacuum to the duct system. This equipment will create the negative pressure that will suction all contaminates and debris into the vacuum collection unit—not the other areas of your home.

CONTAMINENT AGITATION

This step involves removing any source contamination. We achieve this step using one or more devices such as brushes, air whips, or compressed air nozzles or “skipper balls” which are all designed to loosen dust build-up and/or contaminants from the inside of your ductwork. When applicable, the technician might employ hand-brushing and contact vacuuming as well.

DUCT SANITIZATION, CLEANING OF INSIDE AND OUTSIDE UNITS, AND REGISTER CLEANING

In the final step, the technicians will sanitize your duct system, wash and clean your register grilles and reattach them, then thoroughly clean both your air handler (inside unit) and condenser (outside unit.)
